I've been working on this image for a while - mentally mostly, been tossing it around in my head for about 6 months. I tried to leave parts of this rougher than I usually do, mostly to experiment with textures since I often persue smoothness at the expense of believability or artistic merit.
Content-wise I wanted this to look somewhat apocalyptic, and I tried and abandoned a lot of color combinations before finding one that had the right feel. I can't say I accomplished all that I wanted to with this image, but I learned a lot and am satisfied (for the time being) with the outcome.
Absolutly beautiful!.. wow... the detail and theme of this picture really touch me... i LOVE the wings... and how the dress fades away. I think it is very apocalyptic, but beautiful WONDERFUL peice! a definate plus fav!
Stunning work Brett, your art always has a luminous glow that i just love And i know exactly how it feels to have a piece in the works for over 6 months - i still haven't finished it...dunno if i ever will. But i am glad you finished this. The wing is perfectly detailed, and the stained glass windows are gorgeous. And of course the clouds are incredible, you have such a talent when it comes to clouds.
